Junior High Youth! Are you really paying attention? Good. First of all I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I sure did and I ate way too much. I hope you all were able to see family and friends and enjoy the time together. Secondly, I sure hope to see you and your friends on Sunday. This meeting might be the last one that we will have thins year. With Christmas coming in just a couple of weeks and all of the family and trips that I have to make it to I think that it will be too hard to meet until after the New Year. When we come back I have some fun things that I am planning. One is an ice skating trip to Jeff City. Also we will be moving into our new room! If you have ideas for our room or you have furniture that we can use please tell me and I will check the ideas and pick up the furniture. Have a great Christmas! God Bless. |

One of my favorite bands is Casting Crowns, as you may have heard a couple of weeks ago when I preached and showed the "Voice of Truth" video. If you were in the service or not sleeping or not paying attention you would have heard me say that. Anyway, I listen to their music quite a bit when I am in my truck driving to and from work. The other day it really hit me when I was listening to the lyrics of one of their songs. The song is "Does anybody hear her?" This song talks about how a church-going teenager is struggling with the decisions that she faces and when she makes the wrong decision she is not being helped out by her christian friends. In the song it says it is happening "in the shadow of our steeple", these same situations happen all the time in every church including ours, in different degrees. We need to be able to recognize these people that are struggling with problems and not ignore them because they are christian or they go to church regularly. These people really need a strong support from us, christian brothers and sisters. If you know someone that is having problems please talk to them, help them, and pray for them. Look up the lyrics to the song or listen to the song if you can find it, it may be describing someone you know or maybe even you. If it does help them or ask for help. There is an entire family that loves and cares for you and wants to help you on your way to Christ. |
