Matthew 5:14-16 says, "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; ¹⁵nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. ¹⁶"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

This is the challenge that I have for everyone. Jesus is saying that as Christians we are given this "light". We are to let that light SHINE. It doesn't mean that we have to stand up preach to all of your friends at school about how to be saved, if you want to do that it is fine too. It means that you are to live your life the way that Jesus taught us to. If we live like we are supposed to then others will know that we are Christians because of the way that we live. There is a couple of songs that I think of and if you look them up you will know what I mean. One is "Shine" by the Newsboys and the other is "They will know we are Christians by our Love" by Jars of Clay. This is the theme that I am trying to stress for our youth at Riverside Christian Church.  Please think about this and look at how you live your life and think of the things you do everyday and how we can "Shine" God's love to all of the people around us.
